Bred by T. D. WOOD, Spring Meadow Nursery, MI, USA; compact, well-branched growth habit, about 1.2 to 1.8 m in height and width; foliage bright golden yellow, finely and deeply lancinated (much more attractive than with other lace-leaf Sambucus cvs). New growth reddish-brown, foliage turning lime-green in autumn. Creamy-green, scented flowers in upright racemes from May to June; fruits appear from July onwards, bright scarlet-red, in beautiful contrast to the colourful foliage – an extremely conspicuous, trouble-free and hardy ornamental shrub for all soils, both in the garden and in the landscape.
