Compact, bushy, upright round habit, 1.2 to 1.5 m high and wide; leaves broad-ovate, dark green, red in fall; flowers creamy white, fragrant, in showy, large rounded clusters up to 15 cm in diameter from May to June – an attractive, winter hardy and self-pollinating ornamental with multi-season interest, attractive for birds and insects – great in shrub borders, foundation plantings, suitable as a screen and hedge plant even in shady areas.
