HIPPOPHAE rhamnoides ´Sirola´Ⓢ
A rather robust cultivar with columnar growing habit, only slightly thorny, and few root runners; hybrid by H.-J. ALBRECHT, Berlin, originating out of a cross between a Siberian cultivar and H. r. Pollmix; fruits large (100 fruits = 52 g), longish oval to cylindrical, silver-grey scales found only at the tip, red-orange, pleasantly sweet, fruit stalks rather long, allowing easy picking, ripening end July to early August. A cultivar that is highly recommended for private gardens due to its fruit colours, pleasant taste and early ripeness. D, H, St. Zone 4. Under federal protection SAN 10. Protected cultivar unauthorised propagation prohibited!
