PRUNUS incisa ´Kojou-no-mai´
A charming dwarf cherry with dense branching, broad and upright growth pattern, up to 1 m tall and 1.5 m wide. Fine shoots, twisted and bending in a zigzag manner. Leaves about 2 cm in length, long tips, yellow-green at first, turning mid-green with bluish green underside and bright orange-red in autumn. Flowers rosy red as buds, pink to pinkish white when blooming, pendant, appearing in March to April. A filigree-like, free-flowering small shrub ? an impetus to purchase in spring due to its flowers, equally interesting without its foliage; suitable for plant containers, rock gardens, small planting areas and hedges, or as bonsais. H, K, Z. St. Zone 6b.
