PINUS mugo pumilio

A cultivar found in the highlands of the mountains of Central and Eastern Europe with spreading, low-lying growing habit and branches that grow to different lengths; hardly over 1 m tall, though up to 3 m across; needles are very short, staying densely together and dark green - the best dwarf pine for low hedges and mass plantings, excellent for alpine areas, heather gardens, troughs and for planting on graves.
